Removable orthodontic appliance

Orthodontics deals with treating abnormal disposition of teeth, dentition and jaws. There are several reasons for these disorders including heredity, abnormal change of milk teeth and bad habits like thumb sucking, tongue thrust swallowing. Irregular teeth can result not only in aesthetic questions and lack of self-confidence but it can involve several other problems. Due to the irregular position of the teeth it is more difficult to remove the plaque, this way it can lead to dental decay or higher magnitude of tartar.

It is more difficult to clean the interdental space, which could provoke constant gum inflammation. It can cause difficulties in biting triggering pain and even burdening the joints of the jaw very much. So we can see orthodontics is inevitable both for children and adults.

Do not hesitate to make an appointment with our dentist if you have any question.

In the case of a minor disorder it can be applied in childhood. Also useful when the aim is to avoid the eventual restoration of the original condition of dentition after using fixed orthodontic appliances.

Advantages:

- with the devices either for teeth of upper or lower jaws we can broaden the dental arch, we can eliminate some certain biting difficulties ( ie. Cross-bite), we can close gaps or make space for some teeth.

- with the device for both teeth-dental arches we could generate growth of the jawbone, so we can adjust biting.

Drawback:

The disadvantage of the removable orthodontic appliances is the much lower degree of making the teeth move, so they are far not as effective as the fixed orthodontic appliances. That is why following the use of removable appliances some patients often need a treatment with a fixed appliance to achieve the perfect result. This time we consider the treatment with removable appliance as a pre-treatment.
